When to Sow Boldor Beetroot Seeds

March to July. Germination takes up to 24 days.

Where to Sow

Sow thinly in shallow drills 1.5cm (½") deep with 30cm (12") between rows.

What to do next

Thin the seedlings gradually as they grow to an eventual spacing of 10cm (4"). Do not transplant.

June to October

Handy Tip

Best harvested when 5-10cm (2-4") in diameter. Cook as you would red varieties. Leaves can be used in place of spinach. Soaking seed in warm water 30 minutes - 1 hour before sowing will help to speed up germination.
