Tomato Delicious was introduced in 1964. Produces huge, crack-resistant scarlet fruits averaging 250g, but this beefsteak has been recorded to easily reach up to 600g! (With thinning of trusses even larger is possible).
‘Delicious’ is a smooth, excellent slicer with extra tasty flavour and very few seeds inside the large fruits.

When to sow
When to Sow Delicious Tomato Seeds
January to April
Where to Sow
Sow seeds underglass 0.5cm (1/4 in) deep in pots or trays of good seed sowing compost and lightly cover with a sprinkling of vermiculite or compost. Place containers in a propagator at a temperature of 18–21C.
What to do Next
Prick out tomato seedlings once large enough to handle, into 9cm (3 1/2in) pots. Transplant to the greenhouse border soil, or individual large pots, or 3 plants per growbag when 20cm (8in) high. Can also be planted outdoors once all risk of frost has passed. Plants will require sideshooting and support to get the best yields. Water and feed plants regularly with a high potash tomato feed once the first truss has set.
When to Harvest
July to October
Try growing basil between plants. Not only does the scent help deter white fly but basil makes a tomato salad really special.
