Hot Thai is a very compact, productive and highly ornamental. The pungent chillies are excellent for drying or for chilli powder. One of the best chillies for growing in pots as the plants branch very freely, and naturally develop an attractive shape which displays the ripe green to red chillies to great advantage.

Where to Sow

Sow seed on the surface of a free draining seed sowing compost in pots or trays and cover with a fine sprinkling of compost or vermiculite and place at a temperature 18-21°C until the chilli seeds germinate.

What to do Next

Prick out pepper seedings when large enough to handle into 7cm (3in) pots and grow on underglass. Once the chilli plants reach 10cm (4in) high, transplant into growbags or 25cm (10in) pots and grow on underglass. Feed once a week with a high potash tomato fertiliser once first fruits have set.
