If you are looking for a plum with superb flavour, self-fertility, compact growing and plums that ripen over a month on the tree, then Opal is the variety for you. The tree branches very easily and the compact growing habit means that even after 7 years in the ground your tree will still only be about 2.5 mtrs in height, so very easy to pick. With its dark red colour and oval shape, you will have plenty of fruit to share with family and friends in late July and early August.

PLEASE NOTE: Bare root trees will have the roots wrapped with sufficient soil to keep them moist and healthy during postage. ALL our trees are supplied whilst dormant. They have been carefully lifted and placed in a cold store until despatch. All bare-rooted trees will benefit by being placed in a bucket of water for 24 hours before planting, no matter what the weather is like.
