Claytonia seeds. A very hardy salad vegetable also known as Winter Purslane or Miner's lettuce. Sow in rows or broadcast in July or August just covering with soil, to produce leaf from autumn and through the winter.Very nutritious and high in Vitamin C.

When to Sow Claytonia Seeds

July to August

Where to Sow

Sow thinly in a prepared seed bed 0.5cm (1/4in) deep in rows 25-30cm (10-12in) apart or broadcast seeds over an area or in a cold frame.

What to do next

Gradually thin seedlings to 15cm (6in) apart and harvest as required. Plants will benefit from cloche protection through the winter to prolong the harvest period.
