March to July. Seedlings should begin to show around 14 days.
Sow thinly in shallow drills 1.5cm (1/2") deep with 30cm (12") between rows.
Thin the seedlings gradually as they grow to an eventual spacing of 10cm (4"). Do not transplant. Only needs watering when there is a drought. Lift carefully and leave about 5cm (2") of stalk to prevent bleeding when cooking.
12-16 weeks after sowing
