Long Purple is one of the most commonly grown varieties of aubergine in the world. Medium size fruits of elongated shape, approximately 25cm long, deep violet colour and good flavour. The aubergine plant is quite bushy with thick stems. They can grown anywhere between 1-8 feet tall. Beautiful star shaped purple flowers and green foilage. Can be quite tricky to grow as they need a long warm growing season. Feed as you would tomatoes. Long purple aubergines are popular in mediterranean dishes. Annual vegetable.
