Hamburg Root Parsley

Parsley root is a dual purpose vegetable that has an appearnce of a Parsnip. The Parsley-like foliage can be used for garnish or in dishes just like you would use standard parsley. Below the foliage are smooth tapering roots which can be roasted like parsnips or grated into a salad.
The roots are winter hardy and can be lifted as required.

Where to Sow

Direct into growing site in drills 30cm apart. Thin the seedlings to 20cm apart. Roots may be lifted from October onwards.

Handy Tip

When sowing Parsley outdoors, poor boiling water into the seed drills first to kill off weed seeds and to warm up the soil, thus increasing germination.
