September to April
Where to Sow
Sow September sowings into the flowering site 2cm (3.4") deep.
Later sowings can be made in 7.5cm deep, with 5 seeds in each.
Keep sowings made in October, November and March in a cold frame, and January sowings in a heated glasshouse. April sowings can also be sown direct to flowering site.
What to do Next
Glasshouse raised seedlings should be hardened off during March, before planting out next month. Pot grown seedlings can be planted out in April to the flowering site 15cm (6") apart. Thin direct sown seedlings to 10cm (4") apart. Pick flowers regularly to encourage new growth.
Late June to September
Provide sturdy support for plants. after a good rain a mature plant will be heavy.
