Sweet Peas are a really easy flower to grow. They are undemanding and pretty well disease free, but like most plants they will benefit from having good treatment.

Windsor is a well scented Spencer type sweet pea with a deliciously warm chocolate maroon bloom. This variety is a good choice for the show bench,

Kings seeds recommend sowing seeds into a good quality seed sowing compost opposed to multi purpose, and water only with tap water. Please do not use butt water as this can contain harmful pathogens, resulting in poor germination

When to Sow Windsor Sweet Pea Seeds

September to April

Where to Sow

September sowings in flowering site 2cm (1") deep. Later sowings in pots, five seeds in each. October and November sowings in a cold frame. January sowings in an unheated glasshouse. March sowings in a cold frame. April sowings direct in flowering site.

What to do Next

Glasshouse raised seedlings should be hardened off during March. Plant out pot grown seedlings in the flowering site 15cm (6") apart in April. Thin direct sown seedlings to 10cm (4") apart. Pick flowers regularly to encourage new growth.
