Description

Wild Sweet Pea Seeds - Lathrus Matucana.

Flowers are rich purple with a deep red back petal. The masses of bi-colour blooms have an outstanding fragrance to fill your garden with a perfume scent. Short stems. Prefers to be positioned in full sun. Flowers from June to September.
Can grow to a height of 180-220cm tall.
Hardy Annual

Kings seeds recommend sowing seeds into a good quality seed sowing compost and water only with tap water. Do not use butt water as this can contain harmful pathogens, resulting in poor germination

When to Sow Wild Sweet Peas (Lathyrus Matucana) Seeds

September to April.

Where to Sow

September in flowering site. Later in pots 5 seeds in each. October and November in a cold frame, January in an unheated greenhouse, March in a cold frame, April in flowering site. The seeds of many varieties have thick coats. These should be nicked or the seeds soaked in water for 12 hours to speed up germination.

What to do Next

Greenhouse raised seedlings should be hardened off during March.  Plant out pot grown seedlings in the flowering site 15cm apart in April.
