   Highly Scented   Good for Exhibition   Spencer Type

Pluto is a beautifully strongly scented, deepest navy blue to violet purple bloom. This Spencer type variety produces medium sized blooms and makes an ideal cut flower.

Kings seeds recommend sowing seeds into a good quality seed sowing compost and water only with tap water. Do not use water saved in a water butt as this can contain harmful pathogens, resulting in poor germination.

When to Sow Pluto Sweet Pea Seeds

September to April

Where to Sow

September sowings in flowering site 2cm (3.4") deep. Later sowings in pots 5 seeds in each. October and November sowings in a cold frame. January sowings in a heated glasshouse. March sowings in a cold frame. April sowings direct to flowering site.

What to do Next

Glasshouse raised seedlings should be hardened off during March. Plant out pot grown seedlings in the flowering site 15cm (6") apart in April. Thin direct sown seedlings to 10cm (4") apart. Pick flowers regularly to encourage new growth.

Handy Tip

Provide sturdy support for plants such as trellis or a frame. After a good rain a mature plant will be heavy.
