Sweet Pea Gwendoline is a highly scented Spencer type that is ideal for exhibition with its large, highly scented flowers. They are a dramatic cerise-pink on a white ground, held on strong stems. These sweet peas make a great cut flower too!

Height: 180cm - 220cm
Kings seeds recommend sowing seeds into a good quality seed sowing compost and water only with tap water. Do not use butt water as this can contain harmful pathogens, resulting in poor germination

When to Sow Gwendoline Sweet Pea Seeds

September to April

Where to Sow

September sowings in flowering site 2cm (3/4") deep. Later sowings in pots 5 seeds in each. October and November sowings in a cold frame. January sowings in a heated glasshouse. March sowings in a cold frame. April sowings direct to flowering site.

What to do Next

Glasshouse raised seedlings should be hardened off during March. Plant out pot grown seedlings in the flowering site 15cm (6") apart in April. Thin direct sown seedlings to 10cm (4") apart. Pick flowers regularly to encourage new growth.

Provide sturdy support for plants. after a good rain a mature plant will be heavy.
