When to Sow Colocha Mixed Coleus Seeds

Sow January to March

Flowers

September (mainly grown for foliage)

Where to Sow

Sow seed on the surface of lightly firmed, moist seed compost in pots or trays, and lightly cover the seeds with a sprinkling of vermiculite.  Keep at a temperature of between 18-20°C (65-70°F). After sowing, do not exclude light as this helps germination which usually takes 10-21 days.

What to do Next

When seedlings are large enough to handle, prick off individually into small 5cm pots. Grow on until seedlings are about 10cm tall, then transplant into individual 9-10 cm pots. Good light levels encourage better colouration. Grow on in Greenhouse or on a windowsill.

Handy Tip

Pinch out flower buds as they appear, as grown mainly for foliage. For larger plants continue potting on as they grow.
