Hi Crop F1 Collard Seeds

A hybrid Collard or Spring Green vegetable that never hearts up so could be used as a cut & Come again cabbage, pulling the leaves from the centres as they are required or cutting as a whole looseleaf spring green. Good vigour, lovely flavour, cooked or raw and shows good disease tolerance. Can be used for Spring or Autumn greens as it can have a long harvest period.

Where to Sow

Sow seed thinly in a prepared seed bed in shallow drills 2cm (3/4") deep. Keep well watered. Can also be sown in modules or pots and transplanted to final planting positions when 15cm (6in) tall.                                                

What to do Next

Thin the seedlings as they appear to 5cm ( 2in) apart. Once seedlings are 10-15cm (4-6in) tall, transplant to their final growing site spaced 35-40cm (14-16in) apart. Always set the young plants 1.5cm (1/2in) deeper than they were in the seed bed.  Keep well watered during hot dry spells.

Handy Tip

Sow in succession for an extended cropping period of succulent spring greens over a longer period.
