Description


The New World Marigolds, amazingly produces three colours on one plant as flowers change colour as they mature. The first flower opens a deep pink shade with a rustic yellow crest, then changes to bronze then a  straw yellow. Attractive crested blooms on compact bushy plants.

Where to sow

On the surface of lightly firmed moist seed compost in pots or trays and cover with a fine sprinkling of compost of vermiculite. Place in a propagator or in a warm place and keep at a temperature of between 21-25°C. Do not exclude light as this helps germination which usually takes 7-21 days.

What to do next

When seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant into pots or trays. Gradually acclimatise plants to cooler conditions for a few weeks before planting out after all risk of frost, 30cm (12") apart in well drained soil in full sun.
