has  a successful show weekend!

Kings Seeds Horticultural Director Andrew Tokely had a successful weekend at the Capel St Mary Allotment Association Village Show. Andrew won 14 firsts, 15 seconds and 3 thirds. He came 2nd overall for highest number of points in the Vegetable section, but won the trophy for the best exhibit in the vegetable section with his Leeks and won the trophy for best collection of Vegetables. In the Flower section Andrew came 2nd overall for highest number of points, but won the trophy for best exhibit in the flower section with his vase of mixed garden flowers. He also had wins with his Begonia and roses. Andrew also won the RHS Banksian Medal for the most Prize money and picked up the trophy for Best Kept allotment and a bottle of Wine for Best Kept Polytunnel plot that he won earlier in the year. Andrew said “I was over the moon with the results at this year’s Show, especially in a growing year that has been very challenging due to the hot dry weather. Congratulations should go to all the Exhibitors that supported the Show and the committee for putting on such a well organised event“.
