Kings Seeds Horticultural Director Wins The Best Kept Allotment and The Best Kept Polytunnel plot - 2 years in a row!

Kings Seeds Horticultural Director Andrew Tokely has repeated his success of last year by winning again in 2018 The Best Kept Allotment and Best Kept Polytunnel plot at the Capel St Mary Allotment association site. Andrew Said: “I am very pleased to have won both these awards again in what has been a very challenging year, starting with a wet cold spring, followed by one of the hottest summers and longest dry spells on record, but despite this I think my crops have still performed well”.

”The Standard at the Capel St Mary site is always very high, with some superbly maintained plots and I must say a big thank you to my Wife and Son who have helped me carry hundreds of Cans of water to keep the plot going during this year’s very hot weather.“ Andrews main tips to success is never start sowing seeds outside until the weather and soil has warmed up sufficiently, and to keep his trusty hoe moving through the soil at least once a week so that the weeds don’t have a chance to grow”.
