Celeriac Seeds

Celeriac is a root vegetable that has an unique flavour of celery with earthy-nutty tones. It is fairly easy to grow, but start early to get good sized roots and keep them moist. Early sowings can be made in February to April under glass, in trays or modules at a temperate of 16-18°C. Sow the seed on the surface of moist seed sowing compost and then lightly cover to its own depth. Later sowings can be made in pots or trays in a cold frame or unheated glasshouse. Early sowings should be pricked off into trays at 5cm apart. Harden before planting into the growing site in rows. The plants should be 30cm apart, and leave a gap of 30-35cm between each row. Don't plant celeriac until all danger of frost has passed. As a leading seed supplier, we have hundreds of other varieties of fruit and veg!
