Raspberry Canes

Raspberry canes are a great addition to any garden. Raspberries are extremely good for you as they have high levels of Vitamin C and anti-oxidants. Plant raspberry canes when they are dormant, usually from November to March, in rows which are 1m-1.5m apart, and with 45cm between each cane. Prepare the soil well. As the bushes start growing, they may require support with soft ties.

Our soft fruit raspberries are either Floricane (summer fruit raspberries), or Primocane (autumn fruiting raspberries).
Floricanes fruit on canes produced in the previous year. After harvesting the soft fruit, cut out the old fruited wood in autumn and winter and tie in the new growths to the supports.
Primocanes fruit on canes produced in the current year. After cropping, these should be cut down to ground level to promote the growth of new canes. Allow primocane raspberry beds to spread up to 75cm/ 2.5ft wide, but dig out any canes which start to grow between the rows.
Pre-order your raspberries now for delivery in November 2024!
Please note that all soft fruit will be sent out separately. There is a postage charge of £3.75 for all fruit orders.
