Sweet Pea Jilly is a well scented Spencer type that is ideal for the exhibition bench, producing superb cream blooms with yellow buds. Broadly and evenly waved. Wonderful in the garden or around the home on in flower arrangements as a cut flower!


Kings seeds recommend sowing seeds into a good quality seed sowing compost and water only with tap water. Do not use butt water as this can contain harmful pathogens, resulting in poor germination

When to Sow Jilly Sweet Pea Seeds

September to April

Where to Sow

Sowing Sweet pea seeds can start from September, all the way through to April. September sowings in flowering site 2cm (3/4") deep. Later sowings in pots 5 seeds in each. October and November sowings in a cold frame. January sowings in a heated glasshouse. March sowings in a cold frame. April sowings direct to flowering site.

What to do Next

Sweet pea seedlings which have been raised in a greenhouse should be hardened off during March. Plant out pot grown seedlings into the flowering site 15cm (6") apart in April. Thin direct sown seedlings to 10cm (4") apart. Pick flowers regularly to encourage new growth.
