Make September sowings in flowering site at a depth of 2cm (3/4"). Later sowings can be made in a pot. We recommend 5 seeds in a 7.5cm pot. Place October and November sowings in a cold frame, January sowings in a heated glasshouse. March sowings in a cold frame. April sowings direct to flowering site.
Glasshouse raised seedlings should be hardened off during March. Plant out pot grown seedlings in the flowering site 15cm (6") apart in April. Thin direct sown seedlings to 10cm (4") apart. Pick flowers regularly to encourage new growth.
Provide sturdy support for plants. after a good rain a mature plant will be heavy.
