Viola - Back to Black.
Dramatic jet-black blooms smother bushy free-flowering plants over a long flowering period. Ideal for  baskets, patio containers or spring, summer and autumn bedding displays.

Hardy Perennial (Treat as Half Hardy Annual or Hardy Biennial)

Height 15cm (6in)

Sow  Feb, March or June to September

Flowers November-September, Depending on sowing time

WHERE TO SOW
On the surface of lightly firmed, moist seed compost in pots or trays. Cover with a very fine sprinkling of compost or vermiculite. Place at a temperature between 15-20°C (59-68°F). Do not exclude light as this helps germination which is usually 14-21 days. Too high a temperature can prevent germination.

WHAT TO DO NEXT
When seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant into pots or trays. Gradually acclimatise plants to cooler conditions for a few weeks before planting out after all risk of frost, 23cm (9") apart, or plant into containers. Overwinter September sowings in a cold frame then plant out the following spring.

Handy Tip
Ideal for winter and spring displays where the rich colour becomes more intense.
