How to Sow Sir Jimmy Shand Sweet Peas

Sow from September to April. Sow outdoors in September or April, and sow indoors from October to March.
Plant in pots, with approximately 5 seeds in each, and keep in a cold frame or cool greenhouse over winter. Harden off in March before planting out. Plant direct into the flowering site in April at 15cm apart (6"). Thin direct sown seedlings to 10cm apart (4"). Pinch out flowers regularly to encourage new growth and to make them bushier.
Sweet peas prefer to be positioned in well drained soil in full sun.
As these sweet peas grow tall, we would recommend providing them with a support such as trellis to climb over.
