Description

Highly Scented   Spencer Type

Daphne is a Spencer type sweet pea, producing highly scented, slightly ruffled, pale lavender blooms which are slightly darker on the reverse. A good exhibition variety with large flowers on strong stems. Perfect for cut flowers or the show bench.

Kings seeds recommend sowing seeds into a good quality seed sowing compost and water only with tap water. Do not use butt water as this can contain harmful pathogens, which can result in poor germination

September to April

Where to Sow

September sowings in flowering site 2cm (3.4") deep. Later sowings in pots 5 seeds in each. October and November sowings in a cold frame. January sowings in a heated glasshouse. March sowings in a cold frame. April sowings direct to flowering site.

What to do Next

Glasshouse raised seedlings should be hardened off during March. Transplant any pot grown seedlings in the flowering site 15cm (6") apart in April. Thin direct sown seedlings to 10cm (4") apart. Pick flowers regularly to encourage new growth.

Maturity
