When to Sow Kings Ransom Sweet Pea Seeds

Where to Sow

In September, sow the seeds directly in the flowering site about 2 cm (¾") deep. Later in the season, sow five seeds per pot. During October and November, sow in a cold frame, and in January, move sowing to a heated glasshouse. In March, sow again in a cold frame, and by April, sow directly into the flowering site.

What to do next

Glasshouse raised seedlings should be hardened off during March. Plant out pot grown sweet pea seedlings in the flowering site at 15cm (6") apart in April. Thin direct sown seedlings to 10cm (4") apart. Pick flowers regularly to encourage new growth.
