Where to Sow

Sow seeds in shallow drills in rows 30cm (12") apart in well cultivated soil which has been raked to a fine crumbly structure to create an outdoor seed bed.

What to do Next

As seedlings grow, either thin out or transplant 5cm apart. Grow on and finally plant out in final positions in borders or cut flower beds in September or October, spacing plant 15cm (6in) apart. Keep well-watered through dry weather. 

Handy Tip

Cut stems when only half the tiny blooms on each flower head are out, allowing them to fully open in vases indoors, filling the room with fragrance.
