Sunflower Lemon Cutie F1

A dwarf and bushy little cutie ideal for borders or containers. Each unique semi-double flower has a ring of slender lemon-yellow petals, surrounding a shorter mass of rolled petals in a richer yellow hue surrounding a nectar rich centre, making it a popular choice for pollinating insects. Although rich in Nectar blooms have no pollen, so can be cut and added to a vase indoors without the risk of pollen grains dropping on the furniture.

When to Sow Lemon Cutie F1 Sunflower Seeds

Sow April to May. Plant out May to June.
For earlier sowings, sow indoors, individually in 7.5cm (3") pots at 20-25°C. When well grown, gradually acclimatize to outdoor conditions before planting out after all risk of frost has passed in a well-drained soil in full sun or into containers.

Flowers

July to September

Where to Sow

Sow seed thinly in drills 45cm (18") apart in well cultivated soil raked to a fine tilth. Germination usually takes 15-21 days.

What to do Next

When large enough to handle, thin to 45cm (18") apart.

Handy Tip

After cutting the first stem, keep plants watered and often side shoots will develop and produce a later flush of blooms to cut.
