When to Sow Pink Pokers Statice Seeds

Sow February to April. Plant out from May to June.

Flowers

July to September.

Where to Sow

Sow seeds onto the surface of good free draining seed compost and lightly cover the seed with a sprinkling of vermiculite. Place in a propagator or a warm place at a temperature of 18-20°C (64-68°F) until after germination which usually takes 10-21 days.

What to do Next

Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle into pots or trays. Gradually acclimatise plants to cooler conditions for a few weeks before planting out after all risk of frost, 23-30cm (9-12") apart.

Handy Tip

Stunning cut and used as a fresh cut flower, but also interesting when used dried.  Hang cut stems upside down in a cool, dark, airy, dry place. Once fully dry (typically after a couple of weeks) they can be used in wreaths or dried flower arrangement.
