When to Sow Helichrysum King Size Mixed Seeds

Sow March to May. Plant out from May to June.

Flowers

July to October.

Where to Sow

Sow seed on the surface of good, free-draining, seed compost in pots or trays. Cover with a very fine sprinkling of compost or vermiculite, at a temperature of 15-18°C (60-65F). Later sowings can be made direct outside in flowering site at 1cm deep.

What to do Next

When indoor sowings are large enough to handle, transplant into modular trays or small pots. Gradually harden off and plant in flowering site from early May 15-30cm (6-12'') apart. Gradually thin outdoor sowings to 15cm apart.

Handy Tip

To obtain the best dried flowers, cut just before fully open. Hang cut stems upside down in a cool, dark, airy, dry place. Once fully dry (typically after a couple of weeks) they can be used in wreaths or dried flower arrangements.
