WHEN TO SOW
March to April
WHERE TO SOW
Fill a 10cm (4in) pot with a multipurpose compost, lightly firm the surface then water with a fine rose. Once the compost has drained for half an hours, sow the seeds onto the surface of the compost, and then lightly cover the seeds with fine grade vermiculite. The pots are the placed into a heated propagator at a minimum temperature of 18-20C (64-68F) Germination ususally takes approximately 10-21 days, but can be erratic.Once the seedlings have germinated prick them out (transplant) into individual 9cm (3.5in) pots and grow on in the greenhouse at a minimum temperature of 10-15C (50-59F)
WHAT TO DO NEXT
When seedlings are about 5cm tall, prick off individually into small pots or milticell trays. Grow on until 15cm tall before planting into greenhouse border. |
