Tall growing plant up to 2 metres high. Star shaped flowers in July and August are followed by green cyclos which turn bright orange-red when the fruits are ripe. Delicious eaten raw or made into jam. Perennial.

| WHEN TO SOW March and April. WHERE TO SOW Sow in pots, direct in ground or in cold frame. Later sowings can be made in open site. WHAT TO DO NEXT When seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant to nursery bed, finally planting out, into growing position, in the autumn. MATURITY Flowers will appear the following July and August and fruit should be ready by September. HANDY TIP If sown early, plants may flower and fruit the first year. Fruit is delicious either eaten raw or made into jam. |
