The easy and speedy way to fabulous Oyster mushrooms, with their delicate flavour and velvet texture. The kit contains a breathable bag of straw, Oyster mushroom spawn and bag tie. Cropping commences after only 5 weeks and continues until the straw is exhausted.

Step 1
Carefully pour two kettles of boiling water (approx. 3L) over the straw in the bag. Fold over the top of the bag, allow to cool (approx. 1 hr)
Step 2 Sprinkle the spawn onto the straw in the bag. Gather the neck of the bag and seal with the tie. Shake bag to distribute the spawn.
Step 3 Place bag in warmth (18-25°C) for 4 weeks (daylight not required) The white mushroom mycelium will grow through the straw.
Step 4 Cool for 2 days (eg place in fridge etc.) 4-10°C ot 3-5 days at 10-15°C.
Step 5 remove from growing bag. Place on a shallow tray in lit area, 10-21°C. Cover with perforated fruiting bag. Keep humid: spray with tap water twice daily and/or keep bottom of tray just covered with water. Normally 4-10 days. Pick mushrooms before caps unfurl and release spores.
Step 6 Soak in cold water (2hrs) drain and place back on tray in fruiting bag. Repeat from STEP 5 until the straw is exhausted.
CAUTION
CARE SHOULD ALWAYS BE TAKEN IN SIGHTING THE FRUITING MUSHROOM. SOME PEOPLE ARE ALLERGTIC TO MUSHROOM SPORES.IN GENERAL AVOID CONFINED OR POORLY VENTILATED SPACES FOR FRUITING AREAS AND PICK MUSHROOM BEFORE CAP IS FULLY UNROLLED.
