WHEN TO SOW April and May. WHERE TO SOW Sow in pots or plug trays pointing seeds downwards under glass at 16ƒC or in May direct into open ground covering with a cloche or jam jar. WHAT TO DO NEXT When seedlings have formed two leaves, transplant into larger pots if necessary. Continue to grow on and gradually harden off before planting outside 1 metre apart in late May but beware of frosts. Water freely. MATURITY July to October. HANDY TIP Cut the last of the fruits before first frost and they will store well for some time for later use. |
