WHEN TO SOW September and October. WHERE TO SOW Sow in the growing site 1cm deep in rows 30cm apart. Later sowings can be made in cold frames. WHAT TO DO NEXT Thin seedlings as they appear to 25cm apart. In colder areas some protection with cloches may be required. Cold frame sowings can be transplanted in the spring into the growing site. MATURITY March to May. HANDY TIP Keep a wary eye for bird and slug damage in the spring. They are a tempting morsel for wildlife at this time of year. |
