WHEN TO SOW
February to August.
WHERE TO SOW
Early sowings under glass at 13ƒC, either in trays or in modules. Later sowings direct outside in shallow drills 2cm deep, 30 cm between rows.
WHAT TO DO NEXT
Early sowings should be thinned as they grow to 5cm apart. Modules thinned to single seedlings to a cell and hardened off quickly before planting out 30cm apart each way. Outdoor sowings thinned to 30cm apart.Ready for cutting 8-10 weeks after sowing.
HANDY TIP
Stands up to hot weather well and is hardy enough to sow in August in a cold frame. Keep well watered. |
