Cucumber White Wonder
Cucumber  White Wonder Description:
Excellent quality creamy white fruits up to 20cm in length. Good strong plant habit and early into production. 20 PLANTS Sow direct in the growing site by preparing individual holes for each plant. Work plenty of organic matter in a hole 30cm deep and 45cm square,c over with soil to make a slight mound on which to sow the seeds. Sow 2 or 3 seeds at each position from mid-May or sow sow earlier under cloches or in a glasshouse in peat pots or modules. Thin to the strongest seedlings as soon as possible. Cucumber can be trained up supports, in which case plant at 45cm distances. For plants to mature on the ground, leave 75cm between plants. Lay straw or plastic around the plants to keep the fruit clean. Water very thoroughly and regularly. Outdoor crops should be ready from about July onwards. Keep picking to encourage new growth. Some varieties cam be grown either indoors or outside. Choose the growing technique which applies to the growing site.

Sow 2 seeds in each pot under glass at 25°C night and day. Later sowings can be made in May in cold frame.
WHAT TO DO NEXT
When 3 true leaves have formed transplant into 15cm pots. When plants are 10cm tall plant greenhouse varieites in grow bags or greenhouse border and train up wires or sticks. Harden off outdoor varieties and plant out in June.  When watering, always use tap water at room temperature to avoid any bacterial infection.
HANDY TIP
One of the traditional ways to ensure germination is to fold a damp sheet of kitchen paper in half, and place the seeds on their edge in the fold.  Then place ina plastic bag and put them in the airing cupboard.  Check daily and once germinated, place in compost and grow on as normal.
