WHEN TO SOW April To early June WHERE TO SOW Early sowings in pots or trays 2cm apart under glass at 16ƒC. May sowings in cold frames or under cloches. Early June sowings direct into the growing site 2cm deep, 2 or 3 seeds in each position 60cm apart WHAT TO DO NEXT Glasshouse and under cover sowings should be gradually hardened off once they have developed the first pair of rough leaves and transplanted to growing site to late May, 60cm apart. Outdoor sowing should be thinned to one seedling as soon as possible MATURITY July onwards Regular picking produces a crop over many months. Do not leave fruit to become large, as this slows down the production. |
