WHEN TO SOW January to May or September and October. WHERE TO SOW Early sowings under glass in trays or modules at 16ƒC. Later sowings in a seed bed. Autumn sowings in a cold frame. WHAT TO DO NEXT Glasshouse seedlings should be pricked off into trays 5cm apart as soon as large enough to handle. Thin modules to one seedling per cell. Thin outdoor sowings to 10cm apart. Harden off before planting out late April 45cm apart, when they should have 5 or 6 leaves. MATURITY June to October. HANDY TIP Cauliflowers dislike any check in growth. Lack of water causes premature formation of small heads. Water regularly. |
