Description:
Much grown maincrop and storing variety. Heavy yields, long thick roots, good colour & flavour. Can be pulled as required during the winter. Sow in shallow drills 1-2cm deep with 15cm between rows. The aim is to have seedlings every 4-5cm along the row. Depending on the variety, sowing can start under cloches as early as March for a first picking in June.

Sow very thinly in a shallow drill 2cm deep.
WHAT TO DO NEXT
If you have to thin the seedlings, do so in the evening. Water before thinning and remove all debris. Do not transplant. Aim for roots 4-6cm apart, young carrots can be pulled alternately. MATURITY
August onwards
HANDY TIP
Never grow carrots on ground that has recently had manure spread as the roots will fork in search of the goodness.
