WHEN TO SOW Late March to early May. WHERE TO SOW Sow thinly direct into the growing site 2cm deep in rows 30cm apart. If possible, sow carefully so that thinning is not necessary. WHAT TO DO NEXT If you have to thin the seedlings, do so in the evening. Water before thinning and remove all debris. Do not transplant. Aim for roots 4-6cm apart. Young carrots can be pulled alternately to ìthin as you eatî. MATURITY Early July onwards. HANDY TIP Do not grow carrots in freshly manured ground as this may cause fangy roots. |
