Calabrese  Green Magic F1 Description:
Produces a large cnetral head that should be cut first, followed by delicious smaller healthy soots which can be picked frequently over a long period. Shows good resistance to white rust. 65 plants Sow the seeds thinly in a nursery bed 1cm deep in rows 15cm apart in April or May. Thin the seedlings gradually to about 8cm apart. In June or July the plants should have 5 or 6 leaves, transplant to the growing site spacing them 30cm apart all round.

WHERE TO SOW
Sow the seeds thinly in trays 2 seeds to a cell in modules under glass at 13°C. Later sowings can be made into a seedbed in shallow drills 2cm (¾”) deep in short rows.

WHAT TO DO NEXT

When first pair of leaves appear, prick off into trays 5cm (2”) apart, or thin modules to 1 seedling per cell. Gradually harden off before planting in the growing site 45cm (18”) apart. Outdoor sowings should be thinned as they grow before planting.

HANDY TIPS

Calabrese quickly goes from a green head to a flowering. Heads should be cut before flowers open. If you have too many to use, cut and freeze for use in winter.
