WHEN TO SOW

WHERE TO SOW
Sow the seeds thinly in trays or two seeds to a cell in modules under glass at 13°C. Later sowings can be made into a seed bed in shallow drills 2cm deep in short rows.
WHAT TO DO NEXT
A soon as the first pair of leaves appear, prick off into trays 5cm apart, or thin modules to one seedling per cell. Gradually harden off before planting in the growing site 45cm apart. Outdoor sowings should be thinned as they grow before planting out.
MATURITY
July to September
HANDY TIP
Cut the central head when 5-6cm across. This will be followed by numerous small spears for a second crop.
