Cabbage Christmas Drumhead
Cabbage Christmas Drumhead Description:
The name is a little misleading as December is the end of the harvest period which starts in October. Large heads of blue-green outer leaves and crisp hearts. WINTER HARVESTING Sow the seeds thinly in a nursery bed in April and May 1cm deep in rows 15cm apart. When the seedlings have formed 5 or 6 leaves, about July, tranplant to the growing site 45cm apart all round. Plant 1 or 2cm deeper than they were in the nursery bed and tread in firmly, as they have to stand the autumn and winter winds and need a good solid base. Water regularly white establishing.

 Seed Count: 500               Winter Harvesting

WHEN TO SOW
April and May.
WHERE TO SOW
Sow the seed thinly in a well prepared seed bed in shallow drills 2cm deep. Keep well watered.

MATURITY
September to November.
HANDY TIP
Cabbages are hungry plants. Rake a general fertiliser into the topsoil a week before planting out. When planting, tread the plants in firmly.
