Cabbage  Stonehead F1 (Award of Garden Merit) Description:
The heads are so solid you could stand on them. Lovely crisp texture to the creamy white hearts. Can be planted at 30cm spacings, stands well and crops from September onwards. 80 plants SUMMER & AUTUMN HARVESTING Sow the seeds thinly in a nursery bed 1cm deep in late March or April in rows 15cm apart. Sowings can be started in late February under cloches or in a cold frame or in modules under glass at 16C. Thin the seedlings as they grow to about 8cm apart. In April or May when the seedlings have 6 or 6 leaves they should be transplanted to the growing site spaced 45cm apart all round. Tread in firmly and water well. Never let the plants dry out at the roots in summer.

Sow seeds thinly in pots or trays under glass at 13°C or later sowings in a seed bed outside or under cloches in shallow rows 1.5cm (3/4") deep and 15cm (6") apart.
WHAT TO DO NEXT
When glasshouse seedlings are about 8cm (3") tall, prick off into trays 5cm (2") apart. Harden off as soon as possible for planting in the growing site 45cm (17") apart in April. Thin outdoor sowings to 10cm (4") apart and transplant when 15cm (5") tall.

HANDY TIP
If outside condition are not good, sow seed in modular tray then just plant out the plug plants when large enough.Ideal for close planting, if short on space.
