Long, narrow, silvery green leaves and long, feathery, silvery-white awns. Flowers June to July. Can be used as a dried flower, cut in good time or the awns will fall out. Height 90cm with 40cm long awns.

SOW:
In pots or trays. Lightly cover the seed or surface sow on moist compost. Keep seed compost moist only- do not over water.
WHAT TO DO NEXT:
Move pots in a cold frame over winter. Ideal temperature is -4°C to +4°C.
In early spring, move pots indoors and keep temperature at 20°C. Prick out seedlings when large enough to handle, pot on as required and plant out from May.
