WHEN TO SOW
March and April.
WHERE TO SOW
Early sowings under glass in pots or trays at 16ƒC. April sowings direct into open ground or in pots in a cold frame. Place seeds 1cm deep.
WHAT TO DO NEXT
Prick off early sowings into pots when seedlings are about 8cm tall. Grow on and gradually harden off for planting out late April. Outdoor sowing can be thinned out to 30cm apart. Pot grown seedlings can either be transplanted into large pots or allowed to grow on.
MATURITY
July to September.

Slugs are attracted to the young plants to make sure that you provide some protection. |
