WHEN TO SOW

WHERE TO SOW
Direct sow into pots or trays in a good compost under glass at 18°C. Cover the seeds lightly with sifted compost.
WHAT TO DO NEXT
When the seedlings are large enough to handle, prick off into trays 5cm (2") apart. Grow on and gradually harden off for planting in the flowering site 20cm (8") apart from mid-May onwards.
MATURITY
June onwards
HANDY TIP
Where conditions allow, sowings can be made direct into open ground and the seedlings gradually thinned to 20cm (8") apart.
