WHEN TO SOW
January to March
WHERE TO SOW
Sow the fine seeds thinly in trays of good compost under glass at 18°C. Cover lightly with sifted compost. Or sow seed in a sandy loam type compost and start at a cooler temperature 40° for 10-14 days before bringing them out into the warmth.
WHAT TO DO NEXT
When seedlings are large enough to handle, prick off individually into 5cm pots. Grow on until seedlings are about 10cm tall, then transplant into 9cm p0ots. Good light levels encourage better colouration.
MATURITY
Summer to Autumn
HANDY TIP
To stop plants going leggy, and to encourage bushy growth, keep removing flowering spikes and cut back excessive growth. |
