Early sowings in pots or trays under glass in gentle heat, later sowings in a seed bed 1cm deep.
WHAT TO DO NEXT
When early seedlings are about 5cm tall, prick off into individual pots, gradually harden off. Seed bed sowings should be transplanted when 10cm tall. Plant in flowering site 45cm apart.
MATURITY
Heads take shape from July and mature in colour from August.
HANDY TIP
The internsity of the colour in the centre of the plants increases as the temperature falls in the evening. |
